I have no desire to ever be a “solo female traveler” — in fact, I’ve written about my feelings here before. But sometimes I think that Zach and I are never going to end up traveling together and that we’ll never be ready at the same time and that he will go without me and then if I ever want to travel around the world I’m going to have to do it alone.
So, as much as I don’t want to be a solo female traveler I may someday have to be a solo female traveler. Ugh. Whatevs. I’m sure it’s like totes fine. Women travel alone all the time. But it’s still a scary thought.
Here’s how I imagine what it’s like to be a solo female traveler:
Solo female travel might be the most exciting thing you ever do!
But also the scariest…
Solo female travel can be really fun!
But could also be dangerous…
And you can party all the time!
But there’s also a high chance you’ll be kidnapped, raped, or murdered.
Solo travel could be really lonely 🙁
But you could make BFFs all over the world!
You could fall in love!
Or at least have all the sex with hot foreign men.
You’ll probably miss your friends back home.
And your parents will be super worried.
And you’ll get a lot of unwanted attention.
But also a lot of wanted attention.
You have to deal with gross showers, unwashed clothes, and your period.
And you have to wear the same thing over and over…
You have to plan everything yourself.
And then execute those plans yourself.
But at least you get to do whatever you want.
Unless it’s an activity best suited for more than one person.
It may be the most freedom you’ve ever experienced!
But could also ruin your life.
Or be the best thing to happen in your life.
So…that’s what it’s like to be a solo female traveler… I think! Ugh. I don’t know what I would do if I was forced to travel alone! What about you? Are you a solo female traveler? What is it like to travel by yourself?
