Tiger Kingdom is an animal sanctuary in Thailand where you can go and pet tigers and get your pictures taken with them. How cool is that? It is definitely a place I want to visit when I’m in Thailand on our ’round the world trip and with locations in Chiang Mai AND Phuket I can choose when to go (or go to both!) I love animals so much that there are plenty of animal experiences I want to have on my travels, but Tiger Kingdom is at the top of my travel bucket list! Here are five reasons why:

Why Thailand’s Tiger Kingdom is at the top of my travel bucket list!

1. Tigers are so cute!

The big ones might look a little scary. But baby tigers? Oh my. Tigers are so cute I don’t know why anyone would want to miss the chance to play with them! At Tiger Kingdom you actually get to go into a cage and play with little baby tigers! You also get to see the bigger tigers too, they might not be as cute, but they are cute too!

2. It will make your friends jealous.

Seriously, isn’t half the point of traveling to post super cool photos to Facebook and make your friends back home super jealous of all the things you’re doing abroad that they can’t do back home? And one thing you can’t do back home is pet a tiger. I know my friends will be totally envious that I’m traveling and they’re not when I post Tiger Kingdom photos to Facebook!

3. You’ll never see a Tiger this calm in the wild!

Because of their diet and breeding the tigers at Tiger Kingdom were made to be less aggressive than wild tigers. So they are totes safe to be around. Sure you might see tigers in the wild on a safari or something, but those are scary, deadly tigers you wouldn’t want to lay down on for a photo. You might think the tigers at Tiger Kingdom are drugged but according to the website, they aren’t. They’re just calm, OK. Anyways, even if they were drugged, is it that big a deal? If you’re a backpacker in Thailand you’re probably on drugs yourself and you know how awesome it is. The tigers are happy no matter what.

4. It makes a great Tinder profile photo.

I think it’s a requirement that if you’re going to be on an online dating app, like Tinder, you need a photo with a tiger! Everyone has one and you don’t want to feel left out! It makes you look so cool and adventurous to all the boys. I can’t wait to be able to change my profile photo!

5. It supports a local business.

All of the money you spend at Tiger Kingdom goes directly back to breeding more tigers. There are only like 120 tigers or so tigers still in the wild but Tiger Kingdom has jut as many in captivity! And by supporting them they can just breed more and more so we never have to worry about tigers going extinct. So you have to go to save the tigers.

Have you been to Thailand’s Tiger Kingdom? Is it at the top of your bucket list?
